This is my fourth breastfeeding journey.
Each journey came with it’s own obstacles; from reflux to high levels of jaundice, and most recently a tongue-tie.
I have breastfed all four of mine for different lengths of time. My first one ended at four months due to being given the wrong information. My third was the longest for three and a half years.
The support I received and my determination helped me to carry on when there were times when I thought I couldn’t. I’m so glad to have been able to feed all my babies and experience the bond that breastfeeding gives between you and your child.
Breastfeeding is a lovely and natural thing to do, which it is, but it can also be the toughest as well.
Support is so important in a breastfeeding journey and that’s why I became a breastfeeding peer supporter four years ago. To be able to help and support mums with their breastfeeding journeys too is a great feeling.
