Understanding feeding
This ‘cluster feeding’ or ‘frequent feeding’ period is perfectly normal and your baby’s way of increasing your milk supply to help support them as they grow.
The first few months are a time of rapid growth and development so babies may feed more often at certain periods. By feeding frequently, your baby is making sure that you produce plenty of milk to support their development.
Your baby may also feed more often when they are going through a growth spurt or development leap.
It is important to remember, babies don’t only feed for milk.
They also breastfeed for comfort, love and just to be near you. If you ever have concerns regarding your supply or how often your baby is feeding, please do reach out for support.
