Midwife support

During your pregnancy, you will see a Midwife to support and take care of you and your baby.

You will have various appointments from when you first find out you are pregnant

Appointments

Booking between 8-10 weeks gestation

  • 18 weeks
  • 25 weeks for first time mums
  • 28 weeks
  • 31 weeks for first time mums
  • 34 weeks
  • 36 weeks
  • 38 weeks
  • 40 weeks
  • 41 weeks

About each appointment

At each of these appointments it’s helpful to think about questions you might have about feeding your baby and where to go for support. The more information you and your partner know about where to find support on feeding , the easier it will be after baby is born to know who to contact.

A midwife will visit you on;
  • your first day home
  • second day home if breastfeeding or over the phone if bottle feeding
  • day five
  • and if all is going well at discharge on day 10-14.

Book Hello Baby appointment

Don’t forget to book your Hello Baby appointment during your pregnancy. It’s recommended to book one from about 28 weeks and it will help to answer any questions you may have on feeding your baby.
